"It's funny how a silly activity like paint-the-counselor can say more about Camp Swift than our mission statement.  Paint-the-counselor involves the counselors dressing up in old white clothes, and the campers--buckets of watered down paint and brushes in hand--painting the counselors.  After paint-the-counselor, the counselor looks radically different than he or she did only moments before.  My experiences at Camp Swift have taught me that, in fact, the campers 'color' their counselors by confiding in us, giving us a fresh perspective on our own lives, and looking up to us as positive role models.  A counselor never leaves Camp Swift with the same blank canvas--or t-shirt in the case of paint-the-counselor--that he or she came to camp with.  Each session and group of campers brings us new experiences and new memories."
